What is a LifeGroup?
One of the most exciting ministries at North Ridge Community Church is our LifeGroup Ministry.
The goal of our LifeGroups is to help people grow in their Christian
walk in a similar way as the early church did in Acts 2:42-47. Meeting
throughout the communities in Auburn in small groups of 8-12, people
learn to apply the Bible to their daily lives, pray for one another,
enjoy fellowship and personal support of other believers, and serve the
Lord through outreach and ministry.
North Ridge Community Church has groups that meet on a weekly
basis and are led by trained and committed LifeGroup Leaders. Every
group has two overall purposes for meeting: first, the purpose of every
LifeGroup is to build up the community of believers within the Body
of Christ. Secondly, each group is to be a lighthouse to our
community around us so that others might come to know Christ. With
some groups already meeting and others still in the planning stages,
our desire is to see these groups meet many diverse needs.
Most of the LifeGroups meet during the evenings in someones
home. The meetings
usually last about two hours and children are cared for within each
home. Meals are shared
together and each group has plenty of time just for building
friendships. Many times extra activities (individual trips, fun and
games, etc.) serve to strengthen the bonds among
members of the group and the result is a true sense of belonging in the
church.
Opportunities also exist for the LifeGroups to minister in the
church and community. Many groups minister to hurting people within our
church and people within our community who are struggling and may not
have anyone to lean on. Group members regularly minister to one
another in a multitude of ways, such as praying for each other,
supporting each other emotionally through hard times, providing meals
and help at home with children during
illnesses, visiting people in the hospital, and many other ways. These
activities really help bring the members closer together.
As the LifeGroup ministry grows and expands, more groups will
be started. It is through the system of growth and expansion that
people will ultimately come to know more people in our church on a
deeper level than could ever be possible otherwise. And best of all,
there will never be any clicks!
Finding your place in a LifeGroup is simple. All of our groups
are open to guests at all times. Visiting a group in no way obligates
you to join. You can visit as many groups as you like until you find
the one that seems right for you. If you would like to visit a group,
simply pick up one or more LifeGroup cards at the LifeGroup Information
Table following our weekend service, or call the church office at (334)
826-1512.
