A little About our Church

We realize that many people are not comfortable with the whole church scene. North Ridge was started with a goal of not "doing church" but investing in people. We want to help you succeed at this journey called "life." We have found that the secret to a successful life is to help people experience God in a personal and tangible way. We invite you to come and connect with God in a casual environment that is refreshingly different.

Current Sermon Series

Why did you get married?  People used to give great and lofty answers like “We got married for love and because we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.”  Nowadays, however, it only takes one Google search to discover that people are getting married for not quite as great and lofty reasons.  People are getting married to get health insurance together, to make legal issues easier to deal with, to have a big party and receive gifts, to make it more difficult to break up, and because it is simply the “right” time in life to get married.  Well, whatever the reasons happen to be, one reason that you won’t find online or in books is service.  When you say ‘I do’ you are also saying, ‘I commit to serve you for the rest of my life.’  Now, we may not equate marriage with service, but if service isn’t an active part of your marriage, your marriage won’t last long.  It is not long into the marriage that we discover we are selfish.  What a shot in the arm the first time you made plans to hang out with some friends and your spouse said, “But, honey, I thought we would…tonight.”  And it is not long after that when one or both spouses think, “Why am I always the one doing all of the work around here?  Why doesn’t he/she ever help and think about my needs and desires?”  It is easy to see from experience and the current divorce rate that service is a characteristic that greatly needs to be added to reasons for being married.  If our marriages are going to be everything we dreamed they would be, then all of us, husbands and wives, have to reach a point in which we realize that no matter what, it is My Turn to Serve.  If you want to experience a more fulfilling marriage; if you are afraid that your marriage is as good as it is ever going to get and it is far from the marriage you dreamed of having; or if you think the only way to happiness is to get out of your marriage, then join us at NRCC on Sunday mornings during the early part of this Fall season as we talk about why it is My Turn to Serve and what service looks like in a marriage relationship.
